Al Namlah: ‘vision becomes reality’

The MESC (Middle East Specialized Cables) Group of companies recently inaugurated its new factory “MESC–Fujikura Cable Company” for medium and high voltage power cables in Amman, Jordan.

MESC-Fujikura Cable Company was established in May 2007 as a Saudi–Japanese-Jordanian joint venture firm, with a paid capital of JD20 million and a total initial investment of JD35 million.
“The new establishment is a joint venture between MESC, Fujikura Limited and JNC Cables and is the outcome of the owners’ vision of the great potential for power cables in the GCC, Levant and North Africa markets,” an MESC statement said.
Present at the inauguration were Abdulaziz Al Namlah, MESC chairman, Abdul Raouf Al Bitar, chairman of JNC Cables, and Ohashi, chairman of Fujikura Company.
Speaking at the event, Al Namlah said: “The past decade has witnessed consecutive periods of high growth in the global energy market and a massive success for MESC in the region.
“It is not simply another cables manufacturer coming into being. The great history and expertise that lies within the portfolios of the founding members extends for more than a century and is sufficient to place the new company on the map of leading industry players.”
Al Namlah observed that the three partner-companies’ vision of creating a one-stop shop for all cables types and requirements had become a reality.
The MESC statement highlighted that the new establishment was considered state of the art.
“MESC–Fujikura Cable Company has invested in the latest high-tech production machines that ensure production flexibility and the capability to cater to various applications,” it said.
“It is a global player in every aspect of the oil and gas industry, including exploration and production, refining, chemicals manufacturing, power generation and transportation. It not only stands shoulder to shoulder with leading specialised and power cable companies in the world, but also with leading ones in the fibre optic cables industry thanks to the dual partnerships with Middle East Fibre Optic Cables Company (MEFC) of Saudi Arabia and Fujikura of Japan.”
