DuPont was one of the major exhibitors at Saudi Build 2008,  a key event that showcased construction solutions committed to increasing the performance of building systems, reducing operating costs and energy consumption and helping provide safer, healthier environments for more sustainable structures.

The exhibition launched key DuPont construction offerings to the Saudi market including DuPont Corian Illumination Series, Zonyl, Zodiaq and DuPont glass laminating solutions in addition to DuPont Corian, Typar, powder coatings and Elvaloy.
“Invented by DuPont, DuPont Corian is a solid surface offering superior design possibilities and excellent long-term performance, used both in the home and in many different commercial environments,” a company statement said. “Available in over 100 colours, Corian can be carved, routed or worked like wood, moulded, thermoformed or inlayed…the design options are almost limitless.”
DuPont also announced the launch of DuPont Corian Illumination Series at Saudi Build. “Corian Illumination Series is the latest collection in the DuPont Corian solid surfaces series inspired by light – an essential component in today’s building materials. When lit from behind, the colours allow more light to pass through in a material that can be formed, bent, textured and cut - enabling builders to create stunning and inspiring environments,” the statement said.
Tony Azzam, business manager, building innovations and construction industry, Turkey, Middle East, Africa and Pakistan, said Corian Illumination Series was the perfect product to introduce during Saudi Build. “It extends the superior benefits that Corian delivered to provide maximum lighting impact, thus opening new opportunities for architects and designers, and a refreshing experience for consumers. The series is a perfect fit for the unique projects being developed in KSA,” he said.
DuPont also showcased DuPont SentryGlas laminating solutions which the company says provides improved personal safety, property protection, public security, energy efficiency and sustainable development through the use of laminated safety glass.
DuPont also showcased its coatings, surface treatments and liners for road, bridge and tunnel applications. Products on view included Typar Geosynthetics and Zonyl.
Saudi Build 2008 was the 20th in the series and designed to attract key buyers who need the most up-to-date technology and equipment available on the market.
The exhibition was significant considering that Saudi Arabia is implementing multi-billion-dollar public and private projects to provide the necessary infrastructure, housing and facilities needed to support a fast growing population. Among the major projects underway are: electricity ($123 billion), roads ($5 billion), water ($93 billion), schools and universities ($2 billion), hospitals ($5 billion) and housing ($6 billion), besides numerous public and commercial developments and tourism and industrial expansion.
