Saudi Mada Gypsum Company has signed a contract to increase its Yanbu plasterboards plant capacity by 24 million sq m per year.

The contract was awarded to Gyptech Co, a world leader in the industry.
With the expansion, the total production capacity will be 34 million sq m per year. The project will be completed by the third quarter of 2009.
“This expansion is aimed at bringing to the market the best products at a competitive cost,” the company said.
Mada Gypsum is a subsidiary of Inshaa Holding Company, which is part of Al-Rajhi Investment Group.
“Expanding our gypsum production in order to assume a leadership position in the market has always been our ultimate objective,” said Nahil T Al-Deri, Mada Gypsum president.
The company aims to be the leader in Saudi Arabia, the Gulf and the Middle East for gypsum production, especially gypsum boards which are the most important building materials used in decoration and finishing works.
Gyptech will supply equipment used in the production of gypsum boards production.
“It is worth mentioning that our factory is the first Gyptech technology-enabled factory in the Middle East, which only conveys the fact that we provide the best of international quality standards,” said Al Deri.
“Our Plasterboards are also environmentally friendly due to gypsum powder specs and the cardboard which is made from recycled paper,” said Al-Deri.
