Tripp Lite, a world-leading manufacturer of power protection and connectivity equipment, has announced the appointment of iPoint a leading information technology company as its distribution partner in Bahrain.

iPoint is the distribution division of Business International wll.
“The step is a clear indication of the company’s directive to strengthen its local distribution network in the kingdom where it aims to achieve 20 per cent growth in its operations in 2009,” a press release said.  “The agreement, which was signed recently, will allow Tripp Lite to benefit from iPoint’s solid local presence and market expertise, thereby reinforcing its regional strategy to aggressively tap into Bahrain’s growing demand for consumer electronics.”
As part of a multi-million-dollar group involved in office equipment, IT distribution, telecommunications and IT solutions, iPoint maintains a strong presence in retail and possesses strong brand image and visibility in Bahrain.
The company’s affiliation with many global brands has made it a one-stop solution provider for IT and office equipment. Since its launch in 2000, the channel division of the company has focused on the distribution of top quality IT products and peripherals into the fast growing Bahraini market. Recognising those facts, Tripp Lite has identified iPoint’s strong reputation and leading position in the kingdom, and has revealed its intention to leverage its new partner’s strength in direct customer interaction and extensive market knowledge.
Commenting on the partnership, John Joseph, group general manager, Business International wll, said, “The soaring uptrend in demand for the latest and most innovative technologies has made Bahrain a key market, which many manufacturers are seeking to penetrate and maximise their presence.
“Our extensive knowledge of the business landscape in the kingdom has made us a strategic partner for a number of global brands, and it is our mission to continue bridging the gap between the latest technological developments and the highly receptive Bahrain-based consumers. Our partnership with a leading power protection company such as Tripp Lite reiterates the level of trust we have gained through our services and tactical distribution strategy.”
Tripp Lite specialises in providing localised assistance to its customers in the GCC area through its widespread service centres and over 15 in-country distributors strewn across the region.
“Delivering onsite support warranties for mission-critical businesses through its authorised partners, Tripp Lite ensures the implementation of and adherence to rigorous manufacturing processes, which has enabled the company to produce high-quality power protection products,” the release said.
“Furthermore, its intense focus on developing its power protection and connectivity solutions as well as its customer services have earned the company its ISO 9001, Saso, and Bureau Veritas certifications”.
Vipin Sharma, VP for sales in Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa as well as India, Tripp Lite, said his company’s goal was to achieve a strong presence across the region’s fastest-rising economic destinations.  “Our partnership with iPoint is part of our strategic efforts to fully capitalise on this very lucrative market, while supporting its further growth by supplying our top-of-the-line power protection products to its most aggressively booming industries,” concluded Vipin Sharma.
Tripp Lite was the first company to manufacture a UPS system specifically designed for desktop PCs by integrating their proven inverter technology with a battery charger and transfer switch.
