The valve was specified for a Louisiana project

Oliver Twinsafe Valves has just finished producing the largest valve in its history.

The product has been specified for a project based off the coast of Louisiana in the Gulf of Mexico.
A 12-inch 1,500-pound double block and bleed valve was specifically produced to cater for the high-pressure levels within the pipelines on the project.
“Constructed in accordance with ASME B16.34, the carbon steel valve weighs a total of 4.6 tonnes and utilises double block and bleed trunnion- mounted ball valves to offer the ultimate in performance and safety,” Oliver Twinsafe said.
“The project utilised six of the 12-inch valves as part of an integrated package of valves from Oliver Twinsafe Valves, which saw a significant number of double block and bleed ball valves in sizes from 1 inch up to 12 inches being installed throughout the project on main pipelines for process isolation.
“Oliver Twinsafe Valves was selected for its ability to supply its proven double block and bleed valves in the larger 12-inch full bore size. In addition, the local and global technical support the team can offer throughout the process, from the initial query through to the installation, was key in the decision-making.”
