The new telehandlers provide high levels of productivity

Caterpillar, a technology leader and the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines and industrial gas turbines, has launched a new range of telehandlers.

The new Cat TH406, TH407 and TH414 telehandlers are tough, versatile machines designed to deliver high levels of productivity across virtually any jobsite, according to a company spokesman.
The Cat TH406 has a load capacity of 3,700 kg, a lift height of 6.1 m and a forward reach of 3.1 m, while the TH407 has a load capacity of 3,700 kg, a lift height of 7.3 m and a forward reach of 3.7 m.  The Cat TH414 has the same load capacity, but a larger forward reach of 9.2 m and a larger lift height of 13.7 m.
“Load-sensing, flow-sharing hydraulics deliver high digging and lift forces, and allow all boom functions to be operated simultaneously and proportionally. The Z-bar linkage on TH406 and TH407 delivers strong breakout forces when using a bucket,” says the spokesman.
According to details provided by him, a 74.5 kW (100 hp) Cat C4.4 turbo-charged engine is standard on all machines.  An optional 93.1 kW (125 hp) Cat C4.4 engine with ACERTTM Technology is available for the TH406 and TH407. Both engines are certified to Stage IIIA (Tier III) emission regulations.
A limited slip differential fitted in the front axle allows the machines to work effectively in tough conditions. The chassis on the TH414 can be hydraulically tilted relative to the front axle to ensure truly vertical lift on uneven surfaces.
A range of Cat work tools extends the versatility of the machines. A high visibility manual IT coupler comes as standard, with the option of a hydraulic quick coupler to allow work tool changes without leaving the cab.
The new cab is spacious and comfortable with good all-round visibility, and features a new heating and ventilation system with optional air conditioning. The single lever joystick with roller switches is easy to use, and all controls, including auxiliary hydraulics, are fully proportional.
An in-cab LCD displays a wide range of information, including machine speed, operating hours, fuel level, coolant temperature and error messages. The keypad can be used to select various operating modes, including three different steering modes.
A longitudinal stability indicator provides a constant and progressive check on load safety with a cut-out should the recommended load be exceeded. A built-in start code device reduces the risk of theft and unauthorised use.
The spokesman says both machines are easy to maintain and benefit from Cat dealer support with most parts delivered within 24 hours.
The company is represented by Sharjah-headquartered Mohamed Abdulrahman Al-Bahar in the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar. In Oman it is represented through an associate of Al-Bahar – Oasis Trading and Equipment Company.
