Shaikhani: investing in growth

Rubber World Industries (RWI), a leading manufacturer of closed-cell rubber insulation Gulf-O-flex, has announced it has bagged a Dh1.2 million ($326,700) contract to supply rubber insulation products for Motor City, a high-profile themed community development by Union Properties.
RWI, part of the Memon Group of Companies, claims it has an 80 per cent share of the Middle East rubber insulation market.
Designed solely for professional MEP contractors, ‘Gulf-O-flex’ is the only rubber insulation product in the market that meets clients’ unique requirements in terms of preventing condensation or frost formation on refrigerant lines, cold water plumbing and chilled water systems,” RWI said.
“Manufactured in adherence to the strictest quality control and safety standards, the high-performance rubber insulation is a multi-purpose product that facilitates energy and maintenance costs savings, and has therefore earned the confidence of the largest UAE-based real estate developers. The product has also been proven to be non-toxic, lightweight and very easy to install.”
Abu Baker Shaikhani, managing director, RWI, said he was proud that Rubber World Industries was a supplier for the Motor City project.
“A prestigious project such as this requires only the best products available in the market to be able to withstand the intense physical conditions that is predominant in the region. We are confident that our products will meet the project’s requirements while providing other important features, which are focused on reducing costs and energy consumption in line with ‘green building’ initiatives by the UAE government.”
He also said RWI was currently investing Dh30 million to expand production capacity from 1,200 containers to over 3,600 containers per year by 2013. The company is also looking to expand the reach of its high-performance rubber insulation products beyond the 90 countries it was exporting to from its UAE headquarters.
“As more developers gain awareness of environmental safety protocols, we expect the demand for rubber insulation products will rise due to its longstanding benefits,” said Shaikhani.
With modern plants located at the Ajman Industrial Area in the UAE, RWI produces a versatile range of rubber insulation products to meet requirements in the oil and gas, construction, shipping and automobile industries. Since its inception in 1993, the company has delivered to developers including Emaar and Nakheel.
