The Unique machine

Unique Factories has introduced to Bahrain its wet mix kerbstone press that it assembles in Sharjah.

Johnny Jagttal, a director of the company, says Unique has been producing the single-mould hydraulic press for around 30 years but is in the process of improving that to triple-mould.
The current machine is capable of producing 50 to 60 kerb stones per hour in standard sizes as well as providing custom tooling. It is equipped with a PLC control system and a hand-operated wet mix concrete volumetric disperser system. It follows a pneumatically operated volumetric system for weighing. The tools comply with British standards.
“In 2007 we sold seven of these and this year we expect to sell at least 10,” he said. The company claims its machine is the only one of its kind in the Middle East.
As well as assembling it, Unique supplies spare parts imported from Europe and provides maintenance services.
Most of Unique’s machines have been sold to buyers in the UAE with some going to Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Oman. Jagttal hopes to make his first sale in Bahrain and fielded inquiries at the company’s stall at the third Gulf International Exhibition for Building and Interior Design (gulfBID 2008).
