A building at Dubai Silicon Oasis

Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the region’s premier integrated innovations hub for high-tech industries, will be hosting the world’s largest electronics forum (7-9 May, 2008) for the first time in the Middle East.

The forum, which acts as a valuable networking platform for decision-makers in the semiconductor, electronics and related industries, will take place at Madinat Jumeirah. It will bring together specialists in circuit design and production, technology investment, education, and many other fields, where they will have the opportunity to assess investment opportunities while experiencing the emirate of Dubai.
Patron of the event is Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority.
“The International Electronics Forum has a solid reputation and has succeeded in building a track record for attracting investment to the hosting countries,” a DSO statement said.
“Dubai Silicon Oasis has set the benchmark for attracting technology investment,” it said adding that while it complemented Dubai’s advanced infrastructure, DSO had its own value proposition and state-of-the-art infrastructure that it had made available to companies and investors. At the forum, DSO would have the opportunity to reveal the comparative advantage of doing business at the DSO in particular and in Dubai in general.
The International Electronics Forum is organised by Future Horizons, Europe’s leading semiconductor industry analyst. The annual forum, which takes place in a different country every year, was launched in 1991 and has proved to be an industry catalyst. Among countries that hosted the International Electronics Forum are Portugal, Morocco, the Czech Republic, Malta, Hungary and Greece.
