OKI Printing Solutions has initiated a unique strategic alliance with Notre Dame University (NDU) and launched its first Advanced Printing Centre in the region.

The company aims to support educational institutions in Lebanon by building a colour lab equipped with OKI Printing Solutions’ state-of-the-art digital colour toner-based proofing and printing systems.
It was represented at the signing ceremony by Eyad Ateiah, OKI sales manager Levant, and PSI, OKI’s partner and authorised distributor in Lebanon.
“The aim of this process is to support educational institutions, not just in Lebanon, but in the Middle East region” said John Ross, general manager, Middle East, India and North East Africa, OKI Printing Solutions.
“OKI Advanced Printing Centre will enable us to provide graphic art students with the opportunity to experience up-to-date knowledge about colour management and proofing using the latest technology in the field of printing. We hope that the region will acknowledge the value of such a centre and that the OKI Advanced Centre will be the first of many to come in various countries in the region.”
Notre Dame University seeks to provide comprehensive quality education that fosters excellence in scholarship, lifelong learning and enlightened citizenship.  Fawzi Baroud, director of information technology at the university, said the alliance with OKI served the university’s vision to provide a highly personalised academic experience to its graduate and undergraduate students.
OKI will be developing a special course for NDU faculty members who will be in charge of conducting training and educational activities sponsored by OKI throughout the year. “OKI Advanced Printing Centre will be a platform for specialised courses to NDU Graphic Art students as well as professionals, already working in the industry, who seek further education on that kind of solutions.” said Robert Kanaan, general manager of PSI.
Dr Ameen Rihani, NDU vice president for academic affairs, and Kanaan signed the agreement.
