Gulf Precast Concrete Company (GPCC), one of the leading manufacturers of precast and prestressed concrete components, hollow core slabs, GRC (glass reinforced concrete) and GRP (glass reinforced plastic) products in the UAE, says its turnover has been rising 10 per cent year-on-year as a result of the booming construction sector.

Its present annual turnover is between Dh250 million and Dh300 million and these figures are rising steadily following the award of many prestigious contracts, says a company official.
The Abu Dhabi-headquartered company attributes its success to its performance and adherence to quality.
Besides having wide expertise in architectural and structural detailing, the company is also involved in mould-making, manufacturing, erecting, fixing and sealing all types of precast concrete elements.
“We are able to provide a complete construction solution, from architectural and structural detailing to manufacturing and handover by the company’s erection teams that operate both inside and outside the UAE,” says Elias Seraphim, technical and commercial manager for the company.
“Since our construction work involves the use of heavy material, most of our work is in the UAE itself where our company is into designing and manufacture and installation of prestressed/precast concrete components such as custom-designed precast wall frame structures including external insulated sandwich panels, all sorts of architectural and structural precast components and systems such as columns, beams and cladding elements for buildings, villas, warehouses, schools, hospitals, bridges and tunnels,” he says.
The company has five factories - three of them in Abu Dhabi and two in Dubai. Three use traditional equipment, while the other two are equipped with state-of-the-art, automatic, computerised and robotised production. One of these two factories is an automatic hollow-core slab production unit.
“The use of state-of-the-art technology has led to a huge, valuable production output while reducing on the workforce,” he says adding “the use of automatic systems and robotics means a production efficiency that is 10 times more than what is gained by using traditional systems, besides also deriving a more consistent and controlled quality.”
In keeping with its reputation, the company says it maintains strict safety and quality control procedures throughout the entire process from the detailing stage to handing over. It also adopts very stringent safety control measures and also focuses on the use of environment-friendly and natural ingredients like natural stone, natural sand and cement that leaves no toxic waste at all, according to Seraphim.
It has been ISO 9001-certified since 1994.  The company won prestigious awards such as the Sheikh Khalifa Industry Award for Total Quality Management, The Gold Award, Customer and Market Focus Award, Improvement Award and Business Environment Award.
Gulf Precast has done several projects for prestigious developers such as Emaar, Nakheel, Abwab and government departments including Dubai Municipality, Abu Dhabi Public Works and Dubai Civil Aviation. It is currently involved in the construction of the Dubai Mall and Al Barari Residential Complex.
Other projects include Sheikh Hamdan’s palace in Abu Dhabi, Heritage Club, Abu Dhabi Theatre, General Municipalities Building, Al Aryam Tower, Adnoc-Fod building and Al Murooj Complex in Dubai.
