Established in March 1966 with a capital of $37,500, Kent Industrial Co Ltd. started with producing precision molds, dies, and tools. 

Gradually, the company evolved into a multinational corporation specialising in designing and manufacturing precision surface grinders, CNC surface grinders, creep feed grinders, CNC cylindrical grinders, precision double-column grinders, vertical machining centres and double column machining centres.
Kent is a publicly listed company with a capital of $16 million and whose stock is traded on the Taiwan over-the-counter market.  Currently the company operates three plants, one of which is in China while the other two are in Taiwan.  A new plant is scheduled to open in 2008, which will add 10,000 sq m to the existing manufacturing sites of 25,000 sq m. For the past three years, annual sales on a consolidated basis has been approximately $50 million to $55 million each year.  To-date, the company has two China subsidiaries, a US subsidiary based in California and a Japan branch office in Tokyo. Total employment is more than 500.
