Aramco, Sabic sign COTC deal

SAUDI ARAMCO, a world leader in integrated energy and Sabic, a global leader in diversified chemicals, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to build a fully-integrated crude oil to chemicals (COTC) complex in Saudi Arabia. The MoU governs the execution of the front end engineering design (Feed) before a final investment decision is made. The COTC complex is expected to process 400,000 barrels per day of crude oil, which will produce approximately nine million tons of chemicals and base oils annually and is expected to start operations in 2025.

 

Adnoc launches $6.85bn plant

ABU DHABI National Oil Company (Adnoc) has launched its Habshan 5 gas processing plant in the emirate, which boasts a daily production capacity of 12,000 tons of natural gas liquids (NGL).

It was officially inaugurated by Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra,  reported state news agency Wam.

‏The plant, which is linked, via a 215-km-long pipeline, to Adnoc’s offshore Umm Shaif gas field, has four gas processing trains and four sulphur recovery units. Its daily production capacity is 1.1 billion of sales gas; 5,200 tonnes of liquid sulphur and 3,000 barrels of condensate, said the report.

 

Abu Dhabi posts 6pc growth

THE production of electricity from solar energy in Abu Dhabi reached 280,085 MW per hour, a growth of 6.1 per cent compared to 2015, according to a recent report issued by the Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi (Scad). The Abu Dhabi government has given considerable attention to renewable energy as part of its efforts to diversify energy sources; this is evidenced by many of the projects implemented by Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, Masdar, reported Wam, the Emirates official news agency.

 

Biesse opens HQ in Dubai
