Almajdouie ventures have won two prizes in the Supply Chain & Transport Awards (Scata).

Almajdouie Logistics Company (MLC) won the 2016 Logistics Project of the Year award for overcoming challenges in moving oversized break-bulk cargo for Jazan Economic City Development.

The other award – Material Handling Provider of the Year – was granted to Almajdouie De Rijke Logistics (MdR), the Saudi-Dutch enterprise that focuses exclusively on providing supply chain services to the polymer and petrochemical industries.

The award to MLC highlighted its role in supporting EPC contractors, providing solutions for customs clearance, general cargo, containerised cargo, heavy cargo, performing abnormal and critical transportation jobs and conducting barge operations to Shuqaiq Power Plant – all with the objective of developing Jazan Economic City.

The awarding body also honoured MLC’s continuous investments in overland transportation and in preparing staff for the future. It said MLC had raised the benchmark for excellence by using Oracle Transportation Management (OTM), a niche solution under the Oracle Value Chain Execution umbrella.

Yousef Saleh, MLC’s general manager for transportation, received the award on behalf his company.

MdR was honoured for “leading the complete integration in the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up of a collaborative customer’s supply chain,” said an MdR statement.

“MdR was awarded for the collaborative framework that ran throughout the end-to-end supply chain process and which provided ‘visibility’ away from the traditional supply chain relationships between customers and service providers,” the statement elaborated.

Taher AlBader, MdR’s general projects manager, collected the award on behalf of his company.
