Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) has been named as the Middle East’s top channel for shows. It received the title at the World Travel Awards 2001 Middle East ceremony.

Commenting on the award, Adnec’s managing director Ali Saeed bin Harmal Al Dhaheri said the latest accolade served to underscore the successful strategies followed by the company’s board
of directors.

Humaid Al Dhaheri, chief sales and marketing officer, said the second such award in three years was testament to Adnec’s rapid rise in the global events industry. It was particularly significant, he said, as Adnec won the votes of thousands of industry professionals from around the world who recognised its industry leadership in a very competitive industry.

'In 2010, we witnessed a 24 per cent spurt in the number of events staged over the previous year and Adnec would like to remain a magnet for a growing and varied number of events in the coming years,' Humaid Al Dhaheri said, adding that the award was the outcome of collaborative effort from the company’s board, partners and staff.

Adnec had won the ‘International Venue of the Year’ (2010 Association of Events Organisers Awards) and ‘Best International Venue’ (Exhibition News Awards 2010) accolades earlier.
