Emirates Central Cooling Corporation (Empower), the largest district cooling service provider in the region, has switched to the Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) system of Dubai Municipality to obtain water for its cooling towers in Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC).

“This represents a step forward toward preserving the environment in compliance with the Executive Council Order Number 27 to all district cooling companies on replacing desalinated water with sea water or treated sewage water,” Empower said.

Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, remarked: “We have installed a new polishing plant with a capacity to deliver 1,000 cu m per day of pure water in the DHCC District Cooling Plant based on the reverse osmosis technology.”
