Almoayed Barwil Ltd has changed its name to Almoayed Wilhelmsen Ltd.

The name was officially changed with effect from September 29, 2008, after obtaining all the necessary approvals from the Ministry of Industry & Commerce and other relevant authorities.
“The name change is associated directly with the Wilh. Wilhelmsen group’s rebranding of Barwil Unitor Ships Service to Wilhelmsen Ships Service. This move will strengthen the Wilhelmsen brand worldwide and create a unified organisation,” a statement said.
The company, which celebrates 32 years of operations in Bahrain, is a joint partnership between two highly recognised and established family names. Locally, Almoayed Wilhelmsen Ltd is directly associated with the AK Almoayed group, which is a highly recognised brand name in Bahrain.
“Wilh. Wilhelmsen is a Norway-based company established in 1861 and has a diverse global network of maritime companies, experience and expertise which allows us to serve our customers better, both locally and internationally,” the statement said.
The chairman of the board, Dr Tawfeeq Almoayed, confirmed that “with these two great names behind us, we are proud to offer our customers through our esteemed local partners and international branding the personalised, dedicated and value-added service that they have come to expect from us.”
The vice chairman, Knut Brathagen, confirmed that Almoayed Wilhelmsen Ltd had seen tremendous growth over the past two years in line with the country’s expansion and growth, and “we intend to maintain this growth for the years to come.”
“We are moving in a new direction, with the valued support of our customers, the dedication of our staff and the strength of our name to develop into the best ships agency and logistics company within Bahrain,” he said
Almoayed Wilhelmsen Ltd will be present at the 2009 Gulf Industry Fair.
