A deaerator made by Inma Steel being erected

Saudi manufacturer Inma Steel reports it has just completed fabricating 33 pressure vessels of carbon steel for Saudi Aramco’s Khurais facilities.

A company official said the vessels were produced in different sizes but that eight of them measuring 8 m in diameter and 52 m in length were the largest in the lot.  They were also the largest the company ever made.
The spokesman said the company, a member of the Khalid Alturki and Sons Group, was able to fabricate large sizes following the creation of a roofed heavy fabrication bay close to its other plant in Jubail, in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, nearly two years ago. “As the new bay is roofed, conditions within it can be controlled as against the older facilities which were in the open and subjected to weather conditions such as dust storms and extreme heat,” he said.
The new bay is 120 m long, 26 m wide and 10 m from the roof down. “While fabrication may proceed horizontally, a tall structure is important for material handling equipment to operate. With the installation of the new bay we had a quantum leap in revenues,” the spokesman commented.
Inma Steel recently received an order to fabricate 36 stainless steel scrubbers and pressure vessels for Ma’aden’s diammonium phosphate fertiliser plant. It expects to complete the order sometime next year.
The company expects to expand its fabrication facilities by building another yard in Jubail and perhaps another one outside the city.
“In the recent past Inma Steel has manufactured over 300 pressure vessels, columns, reactors, sulphur converters, deaerators and shell and heat tube exchangers conforming to the requirements of Asme,  section 8, divisions 1 and 2,” a company text states.
It listed major projects it completed over the years as the Khursaniyah producing facilities and gas plant; Petro-Rabigh olefins plant, Ju’aymah gas plant expansion, Hawiyah MGL, Qapco EP 2, Chevron Philips’ Jubail plant, Qurrayah sea water treatment plant, Shaybah plant expansion and Khurais producing facilities and utilities.
Clients include Saudi Aramco, Sabic, Metito, Hitachi Zosen, Technip, LG Construction, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Daelim, Mitsui, Techint, JGC and Snamprogetti.
Through its network of agents the company has also exported its products for projects in neighbouring Gulf states.
