A villa decked up with Sigma Guardian Nano

Sigma Paints, among the pioneers in cutting-edge paint solutions, are to introduce their latest and most technologically advanced product, Sigma Guardian Nano, offering what the company says is the ultimate in exterior decorative protection for concrete and cement based substrates.
“Nano is the result of a big idea translated into a small defensive particle against humidity, scratch, dulling and aging,” Sigma said.
“The universal cosmology is an infinite process of life, exhibiting dazzling synchronicity of the macro and microscopic creative intelligence. In its incessant search for ingenious solutions Sigma once again broadened the horizons, looked outwards into space and captured nanometric technology into paints.”
The unique product was engineered in cooperation with the Sigma/ PPG laboratories in Europe to ensure that “it is not only more than a match for the extreme Middle East exposure conditions but also addresses the common causes of paint failures worldwide.”
“Sigma Guardian Nano - from the latest nanometric-based formulations - is developed towards the insight that ultimate protection for buildings comes not only from resistance to external elements such as UV, humidity and carbonation, but also from superior resistance to the universal challenges of moisture vapour evaporation, efflorescence and alkalinity, which emanate from the substrates,” the company said.

Long-term financial benefits
“Demand for Sigma Guardian Nano is expected to be reflective of the increasing expectations of architects, consultants, contractors and owners, who recognise the long-term financial benefits of, and need for, extended paint life protection and the highest quality of decoration.
“Sigma’s prime mission is to respond to society’s need to decorate and protect its surroundings. Through innovation and superior production, Sigma is continuously achieving sustainable competitive advantage and providing durable protection for homes, properties and buildings. Durability ultimately translates to considerable cost reductions.”

Nano resists major failures
Sigma’s brand manager Steven Rijkaard commented: “Sigma Guardian Nano gives comfort to all in the knowledge of having secured maximum paint protection for their buildings. This coating not only protects buildings and structures from the extremely harsh Middle Eastern climate but also resists the main causes of failures emanating from the substrate to which it is applied.
“The superior UV resistance colour fastness and resistance to fading, in combination with low dust pick-up, results in the paint finish looking fresher, brighter and newer far longer.”
Sigma’s technical expert, DTS manager Mike Murphy explained: “Higher resistance to water ingress, particularly at ground level, combined with superb moisture vapour permeability and vice-like gripping adhesion results in a significant reduction in the formation of destructive efflorescence (soluble salts evaporating from the substrate during the drying out period) and the common associated paint failures found around the base of many buildings.”
Murphy added that “certified protection from the destructive effects of acidic gas penetration and concrete carbonation constituted a significant asset in all situations where reinforced concrete is the base substrate.”

Sigma thinks big and small
While  there are paint systems available that can resist maybe one or two of the destructive external elements, Sigma’s Nano Guard paint system protects both from the outside and from the inside and from all the main destructive elements, Murphy and Rijkaard stressed.
“Sigma are not about points scoring, they are about providing cutting-edge technically advanced solutions to the challenges faced by our customers. If pushed I would say that our nanometric technology, and this coating system in particular, is so far ahead that it is comparatively not just from another world but from another galaxy. Sigma not only thinks big, but also small, very very small… as to provide superior cosmic protection,” Murphy smiled enigmatically.

Innovation fuels success
Murphy and Rijkaard reaffirmed the importance of research and development, and emphasized the high priority Sigma Paints gave to the R&D laboratories, and their resolute belief in Sigma Guardian Nano.
“We as a company believe in innovation - meaning the utilisation and incorporation of new technologies or concepts into products that provide solutions to the problems or challenges faced by our client base. By offering these innovations we clearly demonstrate our dedication to our clients and to safeguarding their individual investments.”
Sigma describes itself as a true pioneer. “Sigma introduced nanometric technology to Europe and was the first to register the nanometric technology logo,” it highlighted.  “Moreover, Sigma/PPG are the pioneers in various technologies, including Nano technology, in the world. Now Sigma Paints is the pioneer in the Middle East.”

Historical and Space-age development
“We are extremely confident from our historical expertise coupled with the initial feedback from our clients, that this product will be highly appreciated by an increasingly aware populace.
“Sigma, founded in 1722, is universally acknowledged for its superlative quality and this has been the case for almost three centuries!
“Sigma once again proved that its impressive heritage continues to accelerate the speed of universal paint development and success. This minute space-age development brings the ultimate in exterior protection and offers the security and safety we all desire for our homes, properties and buildings. Nano, the superior defence mechanism and invisible microbial protector provides a dream supreme in earthly surface radiance and resilience, so reflective of the shiny stars and galaxies high above ...”
