Saudi Arabia-based Batterjee Security Products (BSP), a division of AM Batterjee Group, has signed an agreement with South Africa-based Nortech International to introduce world-class security products and electronic systems in the kingdom.
Folowing the agreement, Batterjee will distribute several new lines of products including HeadCount and IdentiPark.
HeadCount is the latest addition to Nortech’s product offerings and was specifically designed to enable businesses to count pedestrian traffic through large and small entrances and open spaces such as entrances to buildings and malls, passages and key points inside buildings, walkways and sidewalks.
IdentiPark has been called “the GPS of the parking world” and can direct and guide cars to the most convenient available parking space in the parking facility. Both systems will now be available to customers in Saudi Arabia, other Gulf states and the Middle East.
Sheikh Abd Almajeed Batterjee, chairman of the A M Batterjee Group, said the agreement would enable Batterjee to offer some of the most advanced and proven security technologies in Saudi Arabia.
“Our customers have come to expect high technology, reliability and intense customer focus from Batterjee Security Products and this partnership enables us to continue to deliver these to them.”
Jonathan Hallowes, from Nortech International, said: “As customers’ needs change and evolve, they require new innovations in security technologies to secure their business interests. From its inception in 1969, Nortech has been at the forefront of these developments, delivering high quality and reliable security solutions that meet the needs of our customers across the world.”
Samir Khayat, executive manager, Batterjee Security Products, said: “We are constantly seeking new ways to help our clients find the best security solutions from all over the world. Both HeadCount and IdentiPark will, I am sure, go a long way in meeting our customers’ security objectives.”

HeadCount, relatively inexpensive
The HeadCount system is patented as it offers a cost-effective counting solution in addition to its considerable performance-related advantages over other systems.
It is designed to: count extremely accurately (99+per cent) on a daily basis; protect and preserve data, even in cases of power-downs and computer crashes; Enable easy, safe, flexible and relatively inexpensive installation; enable real time monitoring of count data; integrate pedestrian count data with that of vehicle parking and other inputs such as sales; allow simultaneous local, regional and central gathering of data; provide remote and continuous diagnostic monitoring, preservation of data integrity, and rectification of faults; provide regular formatted result reporting and analysis in addition to clients’ own custom interrogations

IdentiPark, an ingenious system
IdentiPark lives up to its reputation as “the GPS of the parking world.”  Advantages such as operation of a low voltage power base, minimal installation costs and improved safety make IdentiPark ideal for a wide variety of parking facilities.
With IdentiPark, parking facilities can now ensure maximum occupancy. The occupancy of each parking space is constantly monitored via an ultrasonic Bay Monitoring Sensor. This information is coordinated, with the help of IntelliBoosters and Data Concentrators, and is sent to a facility’s system computer where the IdentiPark software accurately directs vehicles to areas of vacant parking bays.
Drivers are directed by illuminated displays, which include Intersection Guidance Displays, numerical message signs (NMS) and variable message signs (VMS), indicating which directions to take and where there are available parking spa-ces. Vacant spaces are identified by green illumination in the sensor over the parking space or by the Bay Occupancy Display conveniently located in the aisle.
