The 28th edition of the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) will bring together more than 2,500 electronics industry suppliers at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) and the Hong Kong Exhibition Centre, from October 13 -16, 2008.
The fair, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), is the biggest electronics event of its kind in Asia, and the second largest in the world. This year, a new section, the In-Vehicle Electronics & GPS Zone, will be introduced, providing additional opportunities for buyers to find new suppliers and products.
The creation of the In-Vehicle Electronics & GPS Zone is a response to the rapid growth of this exciting industry sector. The Hall of Fame is another zone at the show, which contains an impressive showcase presenting companies that place a strong emphasis on design and create collections of branded electronic goods. Other popular zones within the Autumn Edition include Digital World, Home Tech, and the Technology Exchange Zone.
The electronics industry makes a huge contribution to Hong Kong’s economy. It is the largest merchandise export earner, accounting for around 50 per cent of Hong Kong’s total exports in 2007. For the first four months of 2008, Hong Kong’s total exports of electronics products reached $58.4 billion, a 14 per cent increase over the same period last year.
