Clipsal Middle East, part of Schneider Electric’s installation systems and control business unit APOD, has been selected for one of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Awards 2007 for business excellence in the UAE.

The awards are made under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Clipsal won the award in the manufacturing category. Other categories are financial, re-export, real estate and construction. More than 200 companies were in the running.
The winners were selected for their outstanding performance and unflinching contribution to the development of the UAE economy, the overall business atmosphere and society at large.
Selection was based on a model developed by the Dubai Chamber and which covered issues related to management and performance.
Management criteria include five elements: leadership perspectives, strategic initiatives, quality imperatives, corporate culture and corporate social responsibility.
Performance criteria include output, which is the actual quantity of products and services produced by the firm; outcome, which reflects the company’s achievements; and impact as seen in the company’s contribution towards the nation and society.
Evaluation is made by a committee of the Dubai Chamber, a group of international evaluation specialists and a steering committee that includes government officials and members of Dubai’s ruling family.
