Alstom makes key appointments for Ameca region

Alstom has appointed new members to its Africa, Middle East, and Central Asia (Ameca) leadership team.  

Sacha Parneix has been appointed as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for the Ameca region. Parneix was most recently Chief Commercial Officer at GE Steam Power, in which he was accountable for all systems, equipment and services. He joins the Alstom team with over 30 years of extensive experience across the electricity sector (ABB, Alstom Power, GE) as well as transportation industry (Safran, NASA).

Dana Salloum has been appointed as Vice President of Communication, External Affairs, and CSR for the Ameca region. Salloum joins Alstom with over 18 years of experience in the field. Prior to this role, she was at Boeing where she was the Communications Director for India, Middle East, Africa & Turkey. She spent over 12 years in various leadership roles at Boeing, supporting the company’s growth and presence in multiple markets. She will lead a team of communications directors across the region in support of the company’s commitment to be the leader in sustainable and smart mobility globally.

Joramco appoints Fraser Currie as chief executive officer

Joramco, the Amman-based maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider and the engineering arm of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), has appointed Fraser Currie as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective October 1, 2021.

Currie joined Joramco in April 2018 as Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to that, Currie held the position of CEO at Texel Air, a Bahrain based cargo airline. Currie has 38 years of industry experience, the last 17 years of which at senior executive levels. 

Currie succeeds Jeff Wilkinson, who is taking an expanded role at DAE Engineering to grow the engineering division’s footprint.

Currie said: “I am delighted to take the helm of such a competent and capable team. Joramco has gone through a very successful transformation over the past few years, and I am looking forward to developing the company further with a clear vision.

“I would also like to use this opportunity to thank Jeff Wilkinson for his years of commitment and strategic leadership to transform the operational cadence of Joramco and look forward to continue working with him.”

Badr Al-Olama named Chairman of Emirates Post Group Company

Emirates Post Group Company (EPGC) has announced the appointment of Badr Al-Olama as the Chairman of the organization. With Al-Olama at the helm, and with his strong leadership and business acumen, EPGC is set to forge ahead with its diversification, digitalisation and expansion efforts aimed at further enhancing the presence of its brands in local, regional, and international markets. 

Al-Olama said: “I am honoured to lead, alongside the Board and management, the next phase of business transformation for Emirates Post Group. I am confident that, as a team, we can make a substantial contribution to the diversification of the nation’s knowledge and innovation-based economy, as well as drive sustainable growth towards the next 50 years.”

A seasoned expert with extensive knowledge in various sectors, Al-Olama holds prominent leadership positions across various companies and organisations. He is the current Executive Director of the UAE Clusters at Mubadala’s Investment Company. He also spearheads the organising committee of the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS).

Serco hires national talent to provide better citizen experience in KSA

Public services company Serco has appointed KSA national, Nawara Al Osaimi to lead ExperienceLab in KSA as part of its plan to expand within the Kingdom.

Al Osaimi will take a leading role in expanding Serco’s ExperienceLab’s capability in Kingdom.   As a user-centred research and design agency, ExperienceLab will help organisations and the Saudi government use the unique understanding of data and insights to design, evolve and adapt services to cater to their end-users and deliver world-class experiences in the Kingdom.

Commenting on her appointment, Al Osaimi said: “I’m very excited to be joining and leading a diverse and multicultural team and utilise my background in user experience design to enhance the overall citizen experience in alignment with the Kingdom’s 2030 vision.”

Kristine Pitts, Director of Serco’s ExperienceLab in the Middle East added: “Nawara’s joining marks an exciting new chapter for ExperienceLab here in the Kingdom and demonstrates our commitment to taking this capability to Saudi as a key target market for Serco and ExperienceLab. With a background in service design and design strategy, Nawara will take a leading role in establishing the capability in market.”
