Kanoo Logistics appoints Al Manea as CEO

Kanoo Logistics, a fully owned business division of Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo Group (YBA Kanoo) has appointed Yousif Khalifa Al Manea as Division Chief Executive Officer. 

Al Manea will be responsible for maintaining Kanoo Logistics’ position as a leader in its field in the region and will implement strategies to enhance its global presence.

An Industrial Engineer, who has been with YBA Kanoo in various positions since 2007 and has grown to lead Kanoo Logistics on an acting role for almost a year, Al Manea, has been pivotal in developing  relationships with strategic partners. He has also played a role in establishing the Door-to-Door service which Kanoo Logistics is known for.

Commenting on the appointment, Fahad Fawzi Kanoo, President of Kanoo Logistics, said: “Al Manea is a proven senior executive and a capable leader. He has done an excellent job over the past years transforming Kanoo Logistics into a modern and trusted freight forwarding enterprise.”

Al Manea added: “It has always been an honour to work with one of the largest family businesses in the region and I hope my team and I will continue modernising and growing the Kanoo Logistics division.”

Emerson names new VP, Diversity and Social Responsibility

 Emerson announced the appointment of Akberet Boykin Farr as Vice President of Diversity and Social Responsibility, effective December 1. 

Boykin Farr, who has managed the company’s internal diversity and inclusion programs since 2017, will continue to oversee the D&I function. In her new role, she will also manage the Emerson Charitable Trust, coordinate the company’s corporate social responsibility reporting and serve as community liaison in St. Louis, the global headquarters of the Fortune 200 company.

 She will take over CSR duties from Dave Rabe, who is retiring in December after 36 years with Emerson, most recently serving as VP, CSR the past four years.

“Akberet is a proven leader and strategist who has been at the forefront of our D&I initiatives and has contributed to the shaping of our internal and external CSR strategies,” said Emerson Chairman and CEO David N Farr.

Boykin Farr joined Emerson in 1998 as an employee relations specialist and in 2004 was promoted to HR director. In 2017, the company promoted her to VP of diversity and inclusion.

Gulf Capital appoints Jasrai as Managing Director

Gulf Capital, one of the largest alternative asset managers in the GCC, has announced the appointment of Kaiser Jasrai as a Managing Director of Fundraising and Investor Relations.

He will lead fundraising and investor relations activities for Gulf Capital, expanding and strengthening its regional and global investors’ network and relationships.

Jasrai, who is a specialist capital raiser across the alternative asset classes, joins Gulf Capital from global placement firm Eaton Partners where he spent six years as Managing Director, covering Middle Eastern, European and global investors and where he was ranked as a top performing distribution professional in the firm’s European operations.

During his career, Jasrai has personally raised significantly over $1 billion in institutional capital from Limited Partners including pension funds, endowments, family offices and sovereign wealth funds across Europe and the Middle East for private markets strategies.

Dr Karim El Solh, Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Capital, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jasrai to the team as we embark on a new growth strategy for the firm. Kaiser brings extensive experience across the EMEA region.”

New Managing Director of SENER Engineering announced

SENER has appointed Gabriel Alarcón as managing director of SENER Engineering, which handles the company’s infrastructure, energy and marine activities internationally.

Alarcón said: “I am proud to take on the role of managing director of SENER Engineering; we are faced with several circumstances that represent unique opportunities, and we will take advantage of them. We also have the best team of professionals in SENER’s history, which is an impressive feat. We will renew our purpose in society through engineering and technology.”

Alarcón was previously general manager of technology and innovation at SENER. He joined the company in 1995. Since then, he has held various positions in technical departments, project management, engineering management and general management, as well as in technological fields such as mobility, energy, marine, aeronautics, space, railroads, and automotive.

He added: “While I do of course feel enthusiastic about taking on the new professional responsibilities with which SENER have entrusted me, in the current situation it is a challenge with an extra dose of excitement.”
