Calibration service centre opened

Officials at the opening of Emerson’s new technology centre

US-based Emerson, a global automation technology and software company, has recently opened its Middle East and Africa (Mea) Flow Service Center at its Dubai campus.

The facility will operate as a service centre for customers in the Middle East and Africa, said a statement from the company.

Jeff Householder, president – Middle East and Africa, Emerson Automation Solutions, said: “The establishment of the flow service centre on the Dubai campus reflects our ongoing commitment to the Middle East and Africa region, providing accessible local and certified services.”

The National Metrology Institute of the Netherlands has provided certification for the calibration equipment’s Calibration and Measurement Capability (CMC) with an uncertainty of 0.03 per cent, it said.

This CMC certification reflects the Emerson facility equipment’s quality, technical competence, traceability, and capability, it added.

With this local service, customers  will experience minimal process downtimes and reduced operational costs along with the assurance that calibrations performed in the centre meet internationally certified standards.

Apart from the flowmeter calibration service, Emerson’s Middle East Flow Service Center at the Dubai campus also offers services that range from flowmeter diagnostics and evaluations, meter repair, witness inspection services and documentation performed to guarantee calibration and testing quality, and factory-designed training programmes conducted in the customer’s site or in the facility itself, it stated.

Early this year, the US-based global technology and engineering company inaugurated its new technology and innovation centre, worth SR94 million ($25 million), at Dhahran Techno Valley, in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

The 11,370-sq-m built area facility, enables the company to host Saudi students, entrepreneurs, researchers and industry stakeholders to collaborate with Emerson’s technical experts to develop process automation technologies and design innovative products and solutions that meet the country’s goals as well as ensure global access to Emerson’s research and development (R&D) expertise.
