Ducab, the Middle East’s leading manufacturer of cables and cabling products, has been named one of the top brands in the UAE for the seventh consecutive year by the Superbrands organisation, an independent authority of branding excellence.

Ducab was among the select few brands that were shortlisted from over 1,500 brands in the UAE who are voted through independent research followed by the stringent Superbrands Council selection processes. The company competed with other big international names in an online poll and was awarded the Superbrands title for market presence, product quality, consumer confidence, continuity, accounting practices, customer loyalty and market acceptance.

In an industry with rapidly evolving requirements, Ducab is diversifying its product range to meet energy needs of the future. With six manufacturing facilities across the four sites in the UAE, the company is well-positioned as a global leader in the development, design, manufacture, marketing and distribution of copper and aluminium wire and cable products  providing end to end solutions for the energy, general construction, oil and gas, industrial, defence, transport, marine, mining and other specialty industry verticals.

Ducab is a global leader in the development, design, manufacture, marketing and distribution of copper and aluminium wire and cable products. Having recently added overhead conductors to its portfolio, today Ducab works with customers around the world, expanding from its home market in the UAE to the wider Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australasia, Europe, and the Americas. The company was founded in 1979 and is jointly owned by the Investment Corporation of Dubai and Senaat (General Holding Corporation, Abu Dhabi).

As of 2018, Ducab Group comprises of several business units: Ducab Wires and Cables; Ducab High Voltage (HV), a joint venture between Ducab, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority (ADWEA); Ducab Metals, which supplies copper rod and wire to the region; and Ducab Aluminium Company (DAC), a joint venture between Ducab and Senaat which manufactures aluminium rod and conductors.

With revenues close to $1.5 billion employing over 1500, the company serves customers worldwide in the fields of energy, general construction, oil anf gas, renewables, industrial, defence, rail transport, marine, mining and other specialty industry verticals.

The company recently broke ground on its new global headquarters building at Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai. The new Ducab headquarters will be environmentally responsive, built to achieve a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (Leed) Gold certification when completed in 2019, said a statement from the company.

The three-storey headquarters building will have a total built-up area of 4,053 sq m, with a roof deck garden, it stated.
