Atlas Copco compressors

The weaving plant Orta, a denim manufacturer in Bahrain, has six units of Atlas Copco 250kW 2-stage oil-free screw air compressors, of which three are air-cooled and running since 1998.

These often see cooling temperature in excess of 50 deg C in summer, and despite the very arduous site conditions they have clocked close to 100,000 operating hours each with no air end replacement. Atlas Copco Z compressors are built using the knowledge Atlas Copco has gained since 1954 when the first oil free screw compressor was built. Today Atlas Copco uses state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, designing and building units according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000 & OHSAS 18001, providing highest efficiency and reliability. Decades of partnering with the world’s leading textile manufacturers has given Atlas Copco a keen sense of what is exactly required in the textile industry. Oil-free air protects the users’ equipment from damage, avoids oil contamination of the end-products.

Zia Hassan Khan, plant technical manager at Orta said: “Atlas Copco Z range of rotary screw oil free compressors installed in our plants are live example of reliable and robust products that ensure sustainable and uninterrupted production.”
