Sheikh Salem and Al Owais launch Expo Centre Sharjah’s new website

Expo Centre Sharjah, showcasing its digital innovations, participated in the region’s biggest technology trade show, Gitex 2015, for the first time.

With the event being promoted as a knowledge platform for everyone, ECS presented its digital solutions to a wider target audience.

ECS took part in the Gitex Technology Week along with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry in the Sharjah government departments’ pavilion.

The new website and mobile apps were jointly launched by Sheikh Salem Bin Abdul Rahman Al Qassimi, chairman of the Sharjah Ruler’s Office, and Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al Owais, chairman, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO, Expo Centre Sharjah, and other chamber, ECS and Sharjah government officials.

“Technology has emerged as a big game changer, observed Al Midfa. He highlighted that ECS’ participation aimed to underscore the event’s theme of ‘The Internet – Future of Everything’, given that the exhibitions industry the world over is embracing digital infrastructure and technology to provide quality digital solutions and services to customers.

ECS showcased its new website in Arabic and English with enhanced features and an optimised navigation system. It also presented its all-new mobile app that gives instant access to daily updates on ECS exhibitions, various services and social media integration.

Emphasising the fact that apps have become a dynamic factor in marketing and business strategies, Expo Centre Sharjah offered its visitors a chance to win an iPhone 6S by downloading the mobile app and registering themselves.

“With the revamped website and mobile app, we aim to take advantage of the digital opportunity in the region and its appetite for innovation, besides further integrating new media into our marketing and sales drives,” Al Midfa said.

The app, available on both Android and Apple operating platforms, will provide full details of all B2B and B2C events at Expo Centre in both English and Arabic. It will be an access point for information such as the ECS events calendar, brochures, registration forms, floor plans, press releases, photo and video gallery, location info, special attractions, concurrent events, the online registration option, notifications, newsletters and contact details.

More than 3,600 companies from over 62 countries took part in the 35th edition of the Gitex Technology Week, which took place from October 18 to 22 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
