Nordson enhances valves speed

Recent enhancements introduced by Nordson EFD to its Pico dispensing systems are a good example of the company’s focus on understanding and anticipating the fluid management needs of the companies and industries it serves, the company said.

“We more than tripled their speed so they can operate continuously at up to 500 cycles per second – making them the fastest piezoelectric valves in the industry. This will help high-volume manufacturers who run their production lines 24/7 make more product in less time than ever before.”

Nordson EFD, a Nordson company, will celebrate its 50th anniversary throughout 2013 with participation in numerous North American and international trade shows, a global advertising and public relations campaign, and special customer incentive programmes.

“This year marks 50 years of commitment to developing innovative technologies that help our global customers build their own products better, faster and more cost-effectively,” according to Ken Forden, Nordson EFD vice president and general manager.

EFD was founded in 1963 and after years of steady growth was acquired by the Nordson Corporation. Today, Nordson EFD holds a worldwide reputation as a customer-focused organisation with more than 600 employees dedicated to providing customers in more than 30 countries with superior products, service and technical support.

Nordson EFD designs and manufactures precision fluid dispensing systems for benchtop assembly processes and automated assembly lines. By enabling manufacturers to apply the same amount of adhesive, lubricant or other assembly fluid to every part, every time, EFD dispensing systems are helping companies in a wide variety of industries increase throughput, improve quality, and lower their production costs. Other fluid management capabilities include high-quality syringe barrels and cartridges for packaging one- and two-component materials, along with a wide variety of fittings, couplers and connectors for controlling fluid flow in medical, biopharmaceutical and industrial environments. The company is also a leading formulator of specialty solder pastes for dispensing and printing applications in the electronics industry.
