Masa gains ground

October 2017

Masa Establishment for Pest Extermination, Maintenance and Contracting, a leading pest control firm based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia is gearing up to mark its 38th year of business in the kingdom. The family-owned business was established by the company’s owner and general manager Mousaied S Alshieshakly in 1980 in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

The company takes pride in offering various kinds of pest control services across the 12 major cities in the kingdom; Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Hofuf, Abha, Makkah, Tabuk, Buraidah, Gizan, Madinah, Jubail,  and Rabigh. It is now looking forward to setting up branches in Yanbu, Hail and Al-Kharj, said Mirza Waqar Ahmad, entomologist, R&D Unit, Masa Establishment.

Masa Establishment employs more than 200 professionals, owns a storage facility and is headquartered in Jeddah. The organisation follows an international standard of established hierarchy in different departments with experienced and educated staff working directly under the patronage of its owner and general manager Mousaied S Alshieshakly.

“Since its commencement in 1980, the resilient values instilled by the firm’s founder S Alshieshakly, have paved the way for Masa Establishment to grasp a significant market share and maintain a prominent position in the Saudi Arabia’s very competitive pest control industry where approximately 400 companies are operating,” said Ahmad.

“Masa Establishment is particularly privileged to have such as strong and mutually beneficial relationship with its clients,” he added.

The workforce includes experienced and trained supervisors, pest control service technicians, service coordinators, data encoders, sales consultants and managers. In addition, a recognised customer support system team has also been established within the company, Ahmad said.

The company has recently increased staff strength at its call centre, managed by an all Saudi women team to support the customer service in more efficient and professional way.

CONSTRUCTION SECTOR

The firm, among the pioneers of the pest control industry, has gained a strong foothold and unmatched reputation in the pest control industry for its professionalism, service standards and quality measures which are constantly updated to keep pace with the growth in the kingdom’s construction sector.

Masa’s significant role in supporting the Saudi construction industry by controlling and eradicating the widespread threat of termites in the kingdom has always been widely appreciated. By offering a range of pre-construction and post-construction termite options, it has been able to guarantee the stability of the constructed buildings by overcoming the threat of subterranean termites.

“Our quality of services has made us different from our competitors and given us the edge over them,” said Ahmad.

ENHANCING PRODUCTS

Masa leads in providing environmentally safe, reliable and superior products and services with the intention of protecting the customer’s health, food and property.

The company is in the process of negotiations with many reputable manufacturers of pesticides and pest control equipment all over the world to enhance its portfolio of products and services, said Ahmad. The company is striving hard to introduce more valuable public-health and agricultural pesticides in the Saudi market through registration with the concerned government authorities. It is promoting the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) phenomenon by using a combination of pesticides and other non-toxic products, ensuring a safer and healthier environment wherever its services are operated.

The company has also been a dynamic participant at exhibitions in Jeddah, Dammam and Riyadh since years, to educate people on the importance of pest control services. The company’s entomological staff and other pest control experts arrange these stalls to give participants an exact demonstration for their awareness about the pest infestations, damages and the overall management.

According to Ahmad, the company has carried out every effort to serve its customers very efficiently and promptly, and with the belief that safety is our first priority. “Our concern for the customer’s environment, their family and the world around us is our foremost goal for achievement. This means materials are applied only when and where necessary, and the products chosen are designed for the control of the pests’ problems only, not the non-target organisms,” he said.

Masa Establishment is registered with the Saudi Chamber of Commerce, as well as affiliated with the internationally recognised bodies such as National Pest Management Association (NPMA, USA), British Pest Control Association (BPCA, UK), Australian Environmental Pest Managers Association (AEPMA), Society of Vector Ecology (SOVE), Entomological Society of America (ESA), American Institute of Baking (AIB), Association of Analytical Chemists (AOAC, USA) and others.
