In support of Kuwait’s long-term strategy to become a global hub for the oil, gas and petrochemicals industry, Honeywell is set to host the inaugural Honeywell Technology Summit in the country this month.

The event, held under the patronage of Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), will take place from October 3 to 4 and bring together more than 300 participants including senior industry executives from the energy sector. Supported by major local industry players such as Kuwait Oil Company, Kuwait Integrated Petrochemical Industries Company, EQUATE Petrochemical Company and Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, the event will highlight the importance of connected technologies and business solutions in achieving the goals set out in the Kuwait National Development Plan.

Honeywell is committed to leveraging its innovative technologies and global expertise to support Kuwait’s long-term growth and development ambitions. The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) wave is expected to play an important role in maximising the value of the oil and gas industry for Kuwait in the future, as part of the 2030 Oil and Gas Strategy.

The Honeywell Technology Summit presents an open platform for Kuwait’s industries and regulators to come together, exchange knowledge and ideas, and together build a steady roadmap for industry development in Kuwait,” he added.

Earlier this year, Kuwait announced plans to shift its focus onto petrochemical production through global investments exceeding $8 billion. The strategy aims to develop the industry to an extent that it accounts for 50 per cent of the country›s income generated from non-oil sectors.
