Drydocks to explore new opportunities

Dubai-based Drydocks World consistently aims to explore new business opportunities by diversifying the business to include engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance, repair, operations, and nuclear services, said a statement from the company.

A leading provider of maritime and offshore services to the shipping, oil, gas and energy sectors, it was recently recognised with the ‘Dubai Quality Appreciation Award’ for the 2016 cycle.

The awards, held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, recognises sustainable continual improvement in an organisation and are one of the highest levels of national recognition in the UAE.

Reinforcing relationships with current clients and reconnecting with past clients and business partners is one of the main key business goals of the yard in maintaining the highest levels of on-going excellence, it said.

Chief operating officer Mohammad Rizal, said: “We have succeeded in earning this award due to continued progress and development in maritime and offshore services with over 9,000 strong, dedicated and well trained in-house workforce, and with more than 1,500 management system procedures covering the entire needed processes.”

“In addition, our company has an excellent international reputation in engineering expertise and proven track records for on-time delivery of projects and high customer satisfaction,” he said.

“The yard has state-of-the-art facilities with a climate advantage of almost 360 days rain free in a year, as well as one of the biggest mechanical workshops and in-house training facilities in the region,” he added.

 

34TH ANNIVERSARY

It recently commemorated the yard’s 34th anniversary with a celebration recognising its achievements and employees with over 30 years of service.

The success of the yard currently is the culmination of development efforts made by the people in the yard; these individuals have shaped Drydocks World’s progress in consistently ensuring high quality, efficient services, said a statement from the company.

As Drydocks World celebrates three decades of service to the maritime industry, the yard will continue to grow and sustain as a world’s leading marine, offshore and industrial service provider, it said. The company celebrated alongside valued employees and gave special recognition to those who joined with Drydocks World at the yard’s inception, with the chairman Abdulrahman Al Saleh and board members in attendance at the ceremony.
