The Northern Gulf’s leading annual industrial expo takes place from the 7-9 February 2017 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre under the patronage of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Gulf Industry Fair 2017 is sponsored by Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) and the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), in association with NOGA. Majaal and Naffco will be supporting the Industrial Facilities and Fire and Safety sectors respectively. Supporting organisations for GIF 2017 includes AHK Saudi Arabia, India’s PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the German Saudi Arabian Liaison for Economic Affairs, the Saudi British Economic Offset Programme and Bahrain Industrial Association.

Middle East Electricity

February 14 to 16

Middle East Electricity (MEE), one of the world’s leading power exhibitions, has announced `Smart Cities’ as its theme for the 2017 edition. The event will focus on the future of Smart Cities, and the innovations which are set to lead the way both locally and internationally in the coming decade. Informa Exhibitions – the organiser of the event – will be creating a series of new features and conferences in collaboration with Dubai Municipality and Environmental Center for Arab Towns, the strategic partners for the event.

Idex 2017

February 19 to 23

Leading security and defence decision makers and experts from across the world will participate at the Idex Conference 2017, part of the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (Idex 2017) and Naval Defence Exhibition (Navdex 2017).

The conference will take place on February 18 ahead of Idex and Navdex 2017, under the theme ‘Disrupting Innovation in Defence and Security’, said a statement from the organisers. The conference will include three keynote sessions titled ‘Disruptive Emerging Technology and Innovation: A New Military Paradigm’, ‘The Next Big Leap in Cyber Defence’, and ‘Defence and Security Control/Mitigate Multiple Disruptions’, it said.

Mena Food Production 2030

March 20 to 21

Abu Dhabi is set to play a leading role in coordinating efforts to meet the food challenges facing the Middle Rast and North Africa region. The Mena Food Production 2030 conference will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre on March 20 and 21 during the Global Forum for Innovations in Agriculture (GFIA), an established annual event in the UAE capital, and will drive a critical dialogue between government, food producers, scientists and investors to establish secure, sustainable and profitable food production systems. During the conference, speakers from around the world will be tackling five key challenges: climate-resilient crops; growing the aquaculture industry; future-proofing animal health; smallholder farmer development; and sustainable animal production.

Aluminium Middle East

May 15 to 17

More than 200 exhibitors from 30 countries will participate and showcase their latest products at the 5th edition of the Aluminium Middle East, one of the largest events of its kind in the region, which will take place in May, in Dubai, UAE.

The exhibition is expected to attract over 3,500 industry professionals from over 90 countries, said a statement from the organisers.

This year, the Middle East posted the second highest year-on-year demand growth globally during the first quarter at +5.8 per cent and the world now has its eyes set on witnessing how the GCC will continue to thrive in a post-oil world, with aluminium as one of the major economy drivers, it said.

This regional growth is a major contributor to a growing global demand for aluminium which is estimated to reach 70 million metric tonnes per year by 2020, it added.

PaintExpo 2018

Although it is only been seven months since PaintExpo 2016 closed with record breaking results, promoters FairFair GmbH are already able to report lively demand for exhibition floor space at the upcoming, leading international trade fair for industrial coating technology.

At the beginning of November 2016, 170 companies had already made firm bookings for their booth locations at PaintExpo, which begins from April 17 to 20, 2018. With roughly 75,000 sq feet, net exhibition floor space already amounts to more than 50 per cent of the level reached at the last event. And thus for PaintExpo 2018, booth floor space offerings will be significantly increased. Roughly 170 companies from 15 countries have already made firm bookings and secured ideal booth locations. They include nearly all of the national and international heavyweights from the various exhibition segments.

Wonca 2020

Abu Dhabi has won the rights to host the 2020 edition of World Conference of Family Doctors (Wonca 2020), a prominent biennial conference of family physicians that will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec).

Founded in 1972, Wonca is a not-for-profit professional organisation representing family physicians and general practitioners. It currently has 118 member organisations in 131 countries and territories. Some 500,000 family doctors and medical professionals are members of the organisation.
