Agru Kunststofftechnik has recently launched its DNV-approved PE100 piping system for the Middle East’s ship building industry.

The product range covers pipes and fittings made of PE100/PE100-RC from OD 20 mm to OD 500 mm in SDR11 and SDR17 for new as well as retrofit installations of piping systems on ferries, cruise ships, merchant sea fleets and offshore platforms.

Commenting on AGRU’s new DNV-approved product range, Bryan V Chan, sales engineer at BMC Gulf, AGRU’s exclusive distributor in the region, said: “The introduced corrosion-resistant and low-weight piping system is ideal for hot and cold water systems, chilled and brine water systems, cooling systems, black and grey water systems, water treatment systems for both fresh and wastewater, osmosis systems and evaporation, fresh water bunker lines and ballast water.”

He further said: “The DNV-certified plastic piping system enables fast installation and cost savings to customers as it is lightweight, highly flexible and easy to handle. In addition the piping system requires low maintenance, is resistant to abrasion and microbial corrosion and is also weather and UV-resistant.”
