The latest Ti-pure products expand the limits of paint hiding power and have uses in sectors including architectural, automotive and transportation

DuPont Titanium Technologies (DTT), the largest global manufacturer of titanium dioxide, has announced that its Ti-Pure One Coat and Ti-Pure Select TS-6300 products are now available in all Gulf states.

The company had unveiled the products during the recent Middle East Coatings Show in Dubai. Heike Van de Kerkhof, business director, EMEA, DTT, said importers in the Gulf states join 90 other countries where the product is being offered.

“Ti-Pure One Coat is a systems solution that combines unique technology, market insight, innovative Ti-Pure products, and formulation expertise to expand the limits of paint hiding power beyond what was previously possible.

“Key to the Ti-Pure One Coat  approach is the newly launched Ti-Pure Select TS-6300 titanium dioxide made from a DuPont proprietary chloride-base process that  consistently produces high-quality and high-performance pigments. Ti-Pure Select TS-6300 is an impressive breakthrough in our titanium dioxide technology that enables paint manufacturers to create formulations with superior hiding in flat- and low-sheen coatings, in addition to optimal TiO2 efficiency,” said Heike.

“Both … are used in the architectural and automotive sectors such as construction and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) as well as in transportation such as marine, air and rail.

“We integrate sustainability into our business strategies and our operating principles which create benefit for our customers. In this case, we have reduced the energy required to produce a unit of TiO2 by 30 per cent versus the 1990 baseline. Our business’ central theme is sustainability. Over the past 20 years, Titanium Technologies has demonstrated a pattern of continuous improvement in our environmental performance.”

Titanium Technologies produces other Ti-Pure products for coatings, plastics, laminates and paper.

“We are highly optimistic about the growth of our coating business in the region because we are the industries’ best option for securing future long-term high-quality TiO2,” said Heike.

DuPont Titanium Technologies is part of Chemours, a wholly-owned subsidiary of DuPont, which is on track to be separated from DuPont in mid-2015. This will create a new publicly traded company that is a global leader in chemicals.
