BenQ spells out growth strategy

Bakshi

BenQ will continue to explore the gaming market in the GCC region as it still has huge potential there, its top regional official says.

Manish Bakshi, managing director, BenQ Middle East & Africa, said other key focus areas include the education market for USTi and IFPs, while the company will strive for further growth in the video walls segment for control rooms and digital signage products for retail-oriented products.

Bakshi said the Taipei-based company enjoyed a 12.5 per cent market share in the Middle East for projectors.

BenQ’s popular products are gaming and CAD/CAM monitors, HDMI with speaker models, projectors – video, ultra-short throw interactive and short throw, interactive flat panels and video walls (55”).

Bakshi remarked that the region had witnessed big surges in the gaming and video projectors segments and increases in requirements for video walls in control rooms and interactive flat panels in the education and corporate spheres.

Commenting on BenQ sales so far this year, he said Saudi Arabia accounted for 35 per cent of the total with the UAE following at 25 per cent.

“Between 2015 and 2017 we expect growth of 15 to 20 per cent in sales year on year and profit growth of 25 per cent YoY,” he said. “There is increased acceptance among consumers of high-tech gadgets and the market is expanding for retail-oriented products. Budgets are increasing in the education segment for which our USTi projectors and interactive flat panels are well suited.

“Our product range (existing and in the future) are directly proportional to market expansion. For example: gaming, education, ministries and corporates and our marketing activities are in tune with the customer segments which are growing rapidly.”

Recently, BenQ revealed its full line up of digital signage products comprising four different product series designed for a wide array of indoor and outdoor public information display and video wall use. These included P Series super-narrow bezel displays; BH Series and SV Series value displays; and Total Series for total solutions displays.
