A Kanoo technician

In line with its vision to nurture local talents and enhance Bahrainisation in the company, Ebrahim K. Kanoo has held a ceremony to celebrate Bahraini technicians who successfully completed the technical programme for Body and Paint.

Organised in cooperation with the National Institute for Industrial Training (NIIT), the programme stems from a memorandum of understanding (MoU), signed between the company and Bahrain National Institute for Industrial Training (NIIT) in 2019. This first of its kind, the Body & Paint programme is accredited by the Institute of Motor Industry (IMI), and designed to tackle the specific needs of the automotive sector.

By offering the programme at NIIT with the support and expertise of Ebrahim K. Kanoo the internationally recognised programme will attract more Bahrainis into the dynamic automotive field and prepare them with practical knowledge.

Ebrahim K. Kanoo has been proactively supporting a number of student training programmes with curriculums as well as with the most recent developments in parts, paints, tools and technology.

Upon successful completion of the IMI Auto Body & Paint Apprenticeship Programme, the candidates were offered permanent positions within Ebrahim K. Kanoo’s after-sales department.

Ebrahim K. Kanoo Managing Director, Talal Kanoo congratulated the trainees on their success and highlighted them as the future of the company stating, “At Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo, we take great pride in our Bahraini talents and invest in their careers and technical skills by creating various vocational and educational programmes. What we see today in these exceptional youths is the fruit of many years of careful planning and tireless effort. I take this opportunity to thank the leadership and management of Ebrahim K. Kanoo, and all the dedicated staff at NIIT who put in the time to create this success.”

He further added: “Our ultimate aim is to enhance the Bahraini workforce by way of tangible programmes to benefit all automotive players in the market and will continue to invest in Bahrainis from the grassroots level.”

At the event, recent graduate and current technician at Ebrahim K. Kanoo, Salman Mohsen thanked the company for its efforts in expanding the professional growth of Bahraini youth saying: “Ebrahim K. Kanoo offered me a uniquely valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in the Body and Paint field through this specialised programme right here in Bahrain. I thank all those who took the time and created, taught and helped my team mates and I realise our true potential.” -- Tradearabia News Service
