Mobile and IoT solutions provider, Workz Group, has joined the Trusted Connectivity Alliance (TCA) formerly known as SIMalliance to contribute its expertise and resources in support of the standardisation and security of the SIM ecosystem.

TCA aims to facilitate the secure and sustained growth of connected objects by continuously developing SIM specifications to enable a common infrastructure. Its members represent over 80 per cent of the global SIM market and provide services including SIM card manufacturing, data personalisation and remote SIM provisioning to mobile network operators.

As the mobile industry is estimated to grow from eight billion SIM connections in 2019 to nearly nine billion within the next five years, cellular connected devices across the consumer and machine-to-machine sectors are aided by emerging technologies such as the embedded SIM also known as eSIM.

Workz, has been recognised by market reports as a leader in eSIM and has developed a portfolio of products certified to international standards such as the GSMA and ISO.  It believes all parties concerned, from enterprises to end-users, can benefit from secure and interoperable SIM hardware, software, Over-The-Air and remote provisioning services.

Tor Malmros, co-CEO of Workz said: “Cellular connected things are growing exponentially but those carrying out projects still face a lot of issues in regard to implementation and cost complexities. We, therefore, need to develop standards that provide reliability and scalability for present and future devices. Being a part of the TCA means that together with other leading providers, we have the opportunity to develop these growing new technologies and contribute to their market success.”
