Abu Dhabi-based Al Seer Marine, a key manufacturer of unmanned surface vessel (USV), has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Saudi Arabia’s Advanced Electronics Company (AEC) to build unmanned surface vessels for Saudi Arabia.

Al Seer Marine will be the primary manufacturer for unmanned surface vessels in Saudi Arabia and AEC will be their exclusive partner in the kingdom, said a statement.

This collaboration will also help strengthen AEC’s capabilities and technology know how to better serve their defence and security customers in the kingdom through Al Seer Marine’s innovative portfolio, it said.

The partnership agreement was signed at International Defence Exhibition and Conference (Idex) 2019 in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in presence of the Al Seer Marine and AEC management teams.

Lee Drinkwater, head of business development, Al Seer Marine, said: “We are delighted to have signed this strategic partnership agreement with the leading technology solutions provider in the region, AEC and look forward to a long-standing collaboration.”

Abdulaziz Al Duailej, chief executive officer and president, AEC, said: “Our strategic partnership offers tremendous growth potential and we are confident that we will enhance our support to the kingdom’s defence forces.”
