The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI), represented by the Sharjah Exports Development Authority (SEDC), aims to explore investment opportunities available in the food industry sector during its participation in the 10th edition of SIAL Middle East 2019, being held in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Through a platform including representatives of a large number of national food industry companies in Sharjah, the SCCI’s looks to highlight the country’s food sector products, and open new export markets, during its participation at an ongoing event.

The event is being held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and chairman of the board of directors of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority.

The SIAL Middle East 2019 is being held under the theme “Defining Innovation in the Food, Beverage & Hospitality Industry” from today (December 9) to December 11.

Abdul Aziz Shattaf, SCCI’s assistant general director, Members Services Sector and SEDC’s director, said: “Our participation comes as part of the SCCI’s keenness on promoting national food products, paving the way for a perfect environment supportive to local exports while raising their competitiveness by providing export solutions and methods, boosting products marketing and exports developments, and providing the opportunity for participating companies to make deals and discuss cooperation mechanisms with other stakeholders.”

“The SCCI’s strategic plan pays great attention to bolstering the food industry sector in parallel with Sharjah’s eagerness to achieve food security. Our participation in such pioneering exhibitions would help enhance the SCCI’s efforts in promoting food corporations and increase their export rates,” ghe said.

“Also, the participants will have the chance to learn more about the latest developments of the food and beverage sector at the global level,” he explained.

“The SEDC’s platform is eager to receive visitors, businessmen, and investors to introduce the investment opportunities in Sharjah, particularly in the food industry sector,” Shattaf concluded.

The "SIAL Middle East" exhibition, Abu Dhabi, is part of a series of "SIAL" exhibitions held in Paris (France), Shanghai (China), Montreal (Canada), and Buenos Aires (Argentina). – TradeArabia News Service
