Siemens and TS&S executives at the signing ceremony

Mubadala-owned Turbine Services & Solutions (TS&S), a leading maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider for gas turbines and Siemens, have reinforced their relationship with an expanded supplier agreement contract.

Announced at the Adnoc Downstream Investment Forum, the partnership will see the UAE-based company expand its capacity for Siemens’ SGT-A65 (Industrial Trent) engines.

The new partnership will allow TS&S to gradually increase its capacity for Siemens’ SGT-A65 line to 60,000 hours. This expansion will establish a unique regional Center of Excellence for repair and overhaul services on the SGT-A65 Trent engine.

The collaboration will enhance Siemens’ contribution to technology transfer in the UAE as the nation strives to build a technology- and knowledge-driven economy. The agreement also paves the way for cooperation on future opportunities in the MRO of gas turbines.

Mansoor Janahi, acting chief executive officer of TS&S, said: “This partnership proves that TS&S can deliver consistent and reliable services to the world’s most important OEMs. As we grow our operations, these agreements will ensure that our over 300-strong workforce has a continuous pipeline of projects that demonstrate our capabilities in the dynamic global market. This contract is especially important as it strengthens an existing relationship between TS&S and Siemens.”

Richard Jaros, managing director and chief executive officer of Industrial Turbine Company (UK) Limited (Siemens) said: “Availability is crucial to our customer operations, so a key focus for us is the reduction in overhaul turnaround times. Agreements such as this one with TS&S enable us to deliver on our operational commitments. We have had  many years of good cooperation with TS&S and look forward to working with them and our customers to fully support the maintenance of the SGT-A65TR  in future years.

Siemens and TS&S have been partners for the last 10 years, and Mubadala and its assets work with Siemens in a wide range of areas. More recently, Strata Manufacturing PJSC, another company wholly owned by Mubadala, last year signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Siemens, which expanded and further integrated 3D printing technologies into its business operations. – TradeArabia News Service
