Maqta Gateway, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Ports, and the developer and operator of Maqta Port Community System (MPCS), has announced the launch of new innovative solutions covering online payment and licensing services.
 
The launch of Maqta Payment Solution and Maqta License Management System was held during the Ramadan iftar hosted by Maqta Gateway, in the presence of representatives from the port community to celebrate its achievements over the past year. 
 
Leading officials from Abu Dhabi Customs, Abu Dhabi Terminals besides other government agencies and shipping liners took part at the event held at Bab Al Qaser Hotel, Abu Dhabi.
 
Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, the CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports, lauding all stakeholders for their support, stated that their contributions in terms of continuous feedback and suggestions was instrumental in the rapid adoption of the Maqta PCS online system to add new innovative and useful services to their digital roster. 
 
"We are delighted to see our Port Community growing year on year. Maqta Gateway has witnessed a rapid growth, deploying key new services and adding efficiency and value by enhancing trade as well as securing speed, transparency and security during information exchange. There has been a significant increase in the number of digital transactions that took place this year in comparison to the same period last year," he added.
 
Dr Noura Al Dhaheri, Maqta Gateway general manager, gave an overview of Maqta Gateway’s key accomplishments in the past year in addition to, revealing its latest digital solutions. 
 
“Since we launched the Maqta Gateway project three years ago we have been celebrating the holy month of Ramadan together. Today I am delighted to announce Maqta Gateway’s latest innovative digital solutions including The Maqta Payment Solution (mPAY) and Maqta License Management System (mLMS) which aim to ease processes required by Abu Dhabi Ports’ customers in a more efficient and time effective manner.” she added. 
 
The mPAY is an online payment service, accessible through Maqta Gateway Portal. It enables all Abu Dhabi Ports’ customers to perform and control various financial functions such as settling invoices with available credit, managing financial transactions and paying for Abu Dhabi Ports, Kizad, Abu Dhabi Marine Services (Safeen) and Maqta Gateway Company invoices, using all types of credit and debit cards.
 
The second solution revealed was the Maqta License Management System (mLMS), which allows Abu Dhabi Ports’ customers to apply, renew and pay for their Port licenses, online, adding value and efficiency by eliminating the need to physically visit the counters.
 
Maqta PCS, an online community-based system, is a digital single window that facilitates information flow between all the port related entities through a wide range of services. 
 
In the last two years Maqta PCS was adopted as a single channel to offer all marine and ports’ operation services in all commercial ports including shipping agents, ship operators and shipping lines.-TradeArabia News Service
