Global crude steel production decreased by 13 per cent in April 2020 to an estimated 137.1 million tonnes (mt) down from 156.7 million tonnes a year earlier, showed data from the World Steel Association (worldsteel) released recently. Production for the 64 countries reporting to the Worldsteel fell 6.9 per cent from March to 137.1 mt in April.
