A merger between Hapag-Lloyd AG (Hapag-Lloyd) and United Arab Shipping Company (UASC), will make the new Hapag-Lloyd one of the five largest container shipping lines, a UASC statement said.   Hapag-Lloyd and UASC signed a business combination agreement (BCA) to merge both companies, subject to regulatory and contractual approvals.

Bahri, Apicorp launch fund NATIONAL Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) has signed a deal with Arab Petroleum Investments Corp (Apicorp) to launch a $1.5 billion investment fund that could buy up to 15 very large crude carriers (VLCCs).

An affiliate of The Dow Chemical Company and RSA-Talke signed recently a contract for the storage of chemical products that will be manufactured by Dow from various production sites globally. With this joint venture for chemical logistics, RSA-Talke will receive and store Dow   products in their specialised chemical warehouses in Dubai.

Al sharqi Shipping, a UAE-based logistics provider, has received an award from CMA CGM for being its top customer for 2015. It was the third consecutive time the French-headquartered company presented it with the award, Al Sharqi said.
