The National Institute of Industrial Training (NIIT) is in the process of increasing its workshop space, a move that will enable it to increase the intake of trainees for short- and long-term courses. Dr Hashim Hashim, director of NIIT, said around 200 trainees do long-term courses in a year and about 800 do the shorter ones.

Output was down to about 4.0 million tonnes   from 5.5 million tonnes in 2012.

MAJAAL has appointed 3BL Associates Consultancy (3BL) to conduct an audit to improve its operational efficiency through a corporate sustainability framework. The sustainability audit will be completed this month (January) and recommendations will be implemented within six months, said Majaal managing director Amin Al Arrayed.
