Kuwait’s Agility, the Gulf’s biggest logistics provider, has said it had signed a deal to buy Chinese logistics firm Baisui United Logistics for $50.5 million.

Agility said in a statement on the Kuwaiti bourse website that the Shanghai-based firm offered logistics services for the chemicals, automotive and consumer goods industries.
The Kuwaiti company has bought a string of logistics firms in Asia and other emerging markets to reduce its dependence on US government deals to feed troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, a main source of revenues.
