Snell: ‘sales are growing at a quite fast rate’

Pan Gulf Industrial Systems (PGIS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Pan Gulf Holding, has said it is looking at electronics as its main area of expansion.

Segments targeted for expansion encompass Distributed Control Systems (DCS), fire and gas detection, public address systems, explosion-proof control systems and basic instrumentation.
“All project management will be carried out in the area ‘local’ to the contract whilst engineering will be handled in India,” PGIS general manager Martin Snell said.
The company recently opened an office to cover Asia.
PGIS designs, supplies, installs and commissions state-of-the-art technological solutions required for modern-day projects.  International companies it partners with and represents are world leaders in the manufacture of fire, security and instrumentation equipment and systems.
The company has undertaken several major contracts, notably the polypropylene and polyethylene warehouse for Aker Kvaerner at Yansab and the design and supply of systems to many international contractors for the PetroRabigh project, receiving also a contract from Petro Vietnam. “Our client base extends from Aramco and Sabic in Saudi Arabia to encompass the entire world’s major oil and gas exploration and production companies,” said Snell.
“Sales since 2006 have been growing at a quite fast rate, slightly better than planned and this has enabled us to grow in a controlled manner. 2009 will be a year of growth and consolidation, with much more of our business generated from outside of the kingdom,” the official commented.
“In 2007 our main focus was on the fire segment of the market. However, with the formation of the Security, Fire & Gas and Instrumentation divisions in late 2007 we expect a more even distribution of revenue throughout the whole of Pan Gulf Industrial Systems.
“With the current boom in commercial properties in the kingdom a lot more consideration is being given to the life safety code being applied. We are working quite closely with Civil Defence to provide best practice when protecting commercial properties. Our main market is in the industrial sector where international and local standards are followed and have to be implemented with total compliance.
“We are always looking to broaden our market base and the easiest way to do this is to offer more products into an existing market. This is one of the reasons we formed the different divisions.”
The companies and brands that PGIS partners with or represents include Dynacord, Autronica, Drager Safety, GE Fanuc, FHF, MTN, Mitel, Krohne, Seenite, Turck, Chemetron fire systems, Milton, Tyco fire and building products, Elkhart Brass, Fire Buckeye Equipment, RemTec International, Stephen Gillespie, Ambilogic, Siemens, Mokveld, Emerson Process Management, Fogtec, Navtech Radar, Paxton, Notifier by Honeywell, Eyevis, Norbain, Ogier Electronics, Domo and Vicon.
