Ascade, the global market-leader in advanced routing and trading, billing and quality solutions for the interconnect market, has announced that Qtel, the Qatar-based international carrier, has awarded it a contract for the full suite of Carrier Cockpit.

In Carrier Cockpit, Qtel found a truly integrated platform that uses one data model and one data source for all users where the complete team will benefit from using the same terminology.

Qtel is the telecommunications service provider for both fixed and mobile telecommunications services in Qatar. The company has a presence in 16 countries and is expanding both in the Mena region and Southeast Asia.
In 2007 Qtel received the “Deal of the Year” award after acquiring 51 per cent of the share capital of Kuwait-based National Mobile Telecommunications Company KSC - (Wataniya) from Kuwait Projects Company for a total cash consideration of $3.8 billion. This deal is expected to increase Qtel’s role in the Mena region.
Ascade’s software, Carrier Cockpit(TM) Suite, is described as the most advanced, mature and widely used Interconnect Solution for managing the wholesale business worldwide.
Customers include Reach, Telenor Global Services, SingTel, Telekom Malaysia, Etisalat, Allstream, Elisa, Gateway, TEO, Rostelecom, PT Telekom, Korea Telecom, Hrvatski Telekom, Telekom Serbia, Lattelecom, Bell Canada, Sunrise, Telekom Austria, MobileOne, VSNL and TeliaSonera IC.
