Emirates SkyCargo was voted Best Middle East Cargo Airline for the 20th consecutive year at the Cargo Airline of the Year Awards held in London recently. It is one of the premier events in the cargo industry calendar.

Ram Menen, Emirates’ divisional senior vice president for cargo, highlighted that the company received the award at a time of significant growth.
The carrier’s Cargo Mega Terminal at the Dubai Cargo Village recently became fully operational. Emirates SkyCargo’s fleet continues to grow with the first of eight Boeing 777Fs entering service later this year.
Last year saw the introduction of six new destinations to the carrier’s network. It currently serves a global route network that spans 99 destinations in 62 countries.
The awards are organised by trade magazine Air Cargo News and attract votes from readers across the world.
Emirates SkyCargo along with Schenker AG recently doubled capacity between Dubai and the US city of Toledo via Frankfurt-Hahn following a surge in demand from shippers across three continents.
The two have added a second weekly Boeing 747-400F service between the cities to facilitate growing trade between Asia, Europe and the US.
Emirates SkyCargo launched freighter services to Toledo, located on the western side of Lake Erie in America’s Midwest, in June last year. The second Toledo service will add 120 tonnes of capacity to and from the US every week.
Emirates SkyCargo, which has an office in Dubai Cargo Village, is the air freight division of Emirates Airline. Established in 1985, it has built a reputation for leading the industry in innovation, flexibility and service.

Its fleet comprises the latest wide body jets from Airbus and Boeing. It was the first major airline to place an order for the Airbus A380 super jumbo.
