Live demonstrations will be a feature of the show

Once again professionals involved in all facets of security will gather in Dubai this month to discuss the latest technologies and launch the latest products and services in their areas of activity.

Intersec Middle East, the biggest trade show and conference spread of its kind in the region, is due to be held from January13 - 15 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. It will host the region’s largest industry gathering of professionals in the homeland security and policing, commercial security, fire and rescue and safety and health sectors.
For 2008, Intersec Middle East will have hundreds of worldwide and Mena region product launches. Over 800 exhibitors will present more than 2,000 brands, and a record number of 15 country pavilions will be in attendance.
The event is considered one of strategic importance not only by key industry players but just about everyone involved in the process of improving security and safety in the region.
That importance is reflected in the strong support and active participation by government bodies such as the Dubai Police, Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Civil Defence Ambulance Centre, the Environment, Health and Safety Department (EHS) of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation; the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health and Build Safe Dubai (BSD).
Running concurrently with the exhibition will be dedicated conference sessions where 40 distinguished speakers of the likes of Brigadier Thani Al Matrooshi, Ray Hurst, Dr Chris Doyle, Mark Warrington and Wayne Harris are to present 35 stimulating conference sessions including disaster control, cyber crime, construction safety, accident prevention and threat management.
Attendees will be able to gain insight on the initiatives undertaken by key industry leaders.  The advancement of safety and security in the region has becoming increasingly important in law enforcement and in the response to potential disasters and threats.
Some of the topical issues addressed will be: “Making for a safer society - the global overview,” “Emergency services response and the management of disasters,” “Planning and preparing for major incidents involving the transport sector,” “Safety and health topics affecting the Middle East,” “Building and construction site safety” and “Cybercrime – a national risk and how to tackle it.”
Intersec Middle East in 2008 will host a series of live outdoor demonstrations by Dubai Civil Defence, leading exhibitors and the Dubai Police. Visitors to the exhibition will get an insight into current policing techniques and best practices employed in case of emergencies, as well as the opportunity to see the latest techniques in action.
A team from Dubai Civil Defence will stage the latest rescue and emergency response techniques. In the Intersec Outdoor Demonstration Area, the live demonstrations will reinforce stringent mandatory policies for fire safety procedures. It is a great opportunity for spectators to see in action the initiatives undertaken by the Dubai Civil Defence.
Intersec Middle East provides an information and buying platform for governments, civil defence forces, the construction industry, industrial development, commercial businesses, ports, airports and security professionals.
As developers in the Middle East turn into reality some of the world’s most illustrious projects and as the infrastructure in these countries increases at a rapid rate, the challenges associated with such developments are only going to get more intense.
Intersec Middle East is the only event that brings together the entire international spectrum of commercial security, homeland security and policing, fire and rescue and safety and health.
It is also the only event in the Middle East to showcase new solutions and technologies for a safer and more secure environment.
The show has been organised by Epoc Messe Frankfurt GmbH, a subsidiary of Messe Frankfurt, the world’s largest trade fair organiser with its own fairground. It conducts over 150 events worldwide with 15 subsidiaries across Europe, Asia, America, Africa and the Middle East, and brings 800 years of experience to Dubai, the strategic hub for the region.
